There’s something to be said for doing one thing well. The Kosta House of Ceviche & Seafood is a case in point. Indeed, there’s a lot to be said about this joint.
The casual, unpretentious little place near Mary Brickell Village has both indoor and outdoor dining. It’s done up in warm earth tones and gives off a contemporary vibe. The only real clue to its piscine pretensions are the fishing nets strung up on the walls.
You can get a steak or lomo saltado or chicken or spaghetti (huh?) or teriyaki chicken (double huh?), but just about everything else on Kosta’s rather eclectic menu once swam in the water. There are eight ceviches (including the supposedly miraculous “I’m alive” hangover ceviche) plus everything from coconut shrimp, lobster bisque, and fried calamari to shrimp risotto, paella, and octopus sautéed with white wine, saffron, garlic, and potatoes.
How’s that for truth in advertising?
