Lolita, modestly
priced restaurant, you tease my tongue. Your eggplant timbales and
Chilean sea bass were great, and your dessert even better. Lo-lee-ta, you’re sweet.
My attraction to
Dolores, But You Can Call Me Lolita’s desserts began with a
coy glance at the simple menu and alluring price. Each is just $2.50.
There are four choices. Tiramisu. Churros with cinnamon ice cream.
Chocolate flan. Dulce de leche.
One by one,
they were delivered with dollops of whipped cream and ripe cherries: it was perhaps a, sin to destroy such beauty with a
spoon. The churros were light and crispy – about four inches long,as round as a cigarette,and dusted with just enough
sugar. They were served alongside a scoop of tasty cinnamon ice
cream.
The chocolate flan
was the favorite with its smooth, creamy texture and unique
taste. It was served with just enough chocolate sauce on top not to drown it. Better yet, it is also available in guava.
The caramel kiss
dulce de leche had a smooth, fluffy peanut butter-like consistency
that wasn’t overly sweet. The whipped cream was especially vital for
balance with this dessert.
I love you, Lolita. Love you. Consumed with $3.50 cappuccinos, dessert
at Lolita’s is nothing short of ecstasy.
