A sprawling new hotel near three major Fort Lauderdale landmarks is now accepting reservations. Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, a 801-room property opening in September, is directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, a few minutes from the Port Everglades cruise terminal, and less than five miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The 29-story hotel is the Omni brand's first property in Fort Lauderdale and its third in the state. Its amenities include six dining options, a full-service spa, an elevated pool deck with city views, a fitness center, and dozens of meeting spaces. Rates start at $319 per night during the opening months and rise slightly to $359 during the winter high season.
Prospective guests can take a virtual property tour, comprising renderings of the hotel's many public spaces. The tour includes a God's-eye view of the property in relation to its surrounding landmarks, including the Broward County Convention Center's new East and West building expansions, an outdoor amphitheater, and a plaza with access to the convention center and Omni property.
The video also provides glimpses of the hotel and plaza's dining options. Six have been announced so far, including lobby bar Hidden Key, Italian chophouse Barchetta, seafood-focused Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, sports bar Fair Ketch (featuring a Topgolf Swing Suite with two bays), poolside High Tide, the rooftop Ibis Sky Lounge, and the Leeward Market café.
Other amenities include a fitness center and the property's Mokara Spa, which is inspired by Florida's natural springs and offers massages, facials, and Hammam steam rituals.
No doubt a bid to court business travelers, the hotel boasts 1.2 million square feet of meeting space, including the 30,000-square-foot Waterway Ballroom and 15,000-square-foot Port Everglades Ballroom. A charter boat berth and water taxi are also located across the property, past the plaza and outdoor amphitheater.
