THU 20

What is Latin beauty? Is it the sultry dark allure of Salma Hayek or the blond glow of Jennifer Lopez? What about the kooky colors of Celia Cruz or the sweaty sexuality of Shakira? To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, Chanel Beauté is celebrating an evening of Latin-inspired glamour. This cocktail reception will be hosted by some of Miami's most enchanting society chicas. Sip "spa" mojitos, nibble on hors d'oeuvres, and then pucker up for a complimentary makeover. The event will also introduce Chanel's new holiday collection multi-use color palette — a compact range of jewel-hued eye shadows, blush creams, and lip glosses. Shimmy to Latin jazz tonight at 7:00 at the Chanel Beauté area in Macy's Dadeland, 7303 N. Kendall Dr., Miami. Call 305-662-3400, and learn more about Chanel's cosmetics at www.chanel.com. (PEGY)

SAT 22

Since you're already planning on going out and getting drunk tonight, why not do it for a cause? The Helpful Hangover is a Coconut Grove pub crawl for hurricane relief. A $20 check made out to the American Red Cross will get you a T-shirt, a slice of pizza, and nine drinks. Once you don the special top, you can walk into any of the participating restaurants (including Hooters, Fat Tuesday, Señor Frog's, Greenstreet Caf, and others) and they will gladly hand you a free cocktail, beer, or shot, or you can enjoy a small snack to soak up some of that party juice. Your goal is to have a good time and get all the logos checked off the back of your shirt. Don't worry about overdoing it; the number of a cab company is also on the tee. Buy your drinking shirt at Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar & Latam Grill, 3067 Grand Ave., Coconut Grove. The swilling begins at 7:00 p.m. Call 305-444-0216, or visit www.jaguarspot.com. (LO)

SUN 23

Why can't every week end with a three-day weekend? Just when you've begun to relax, you realize you have to go back to work tomorrow, and the thought of facing assignments, deadlines, and endless e-mails taints your last few hours of freedom. Today get the worries rubbed right out of you at a Massage-a-thon hosted by the Educating Hands School of Massage (120 SW Eighth St., Miami) and the Miami-Dade County chapter of the Florida State Massage Therapy Association. All proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and will assist Gulf Coast residents affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Have a muscle-relaxing moment from 10:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. A one-hour massage costs only $35. Appointments are suggested, but chair massages (for a buck a minute) are available to walk-ins. Call 305-285-6991, ext. 305, or visit www.educatinghands.com. (LO)

MON 24

Are you tired of bras with slipping straps and uncomfortable underwires? Don't burn 'em; hang 'em from a tree. To recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month, Norman Brothers Produce (7621 SW 87th Ave., Miami) is asking women to "donate a bra and a buck." The store will donate one dollar to the American Cancer Society for each bra it harvests, and at the end of the month, the bras will be cleaned and donated to the Salvation Army. The bumper crop is blossoming from the trees and filling the neighborhood store with pink lace, black satin, and white spandex, but there's plenty of room for more. "We have several hundred, but we haven't reached the thousand mark yet," says store manager Suann Suggs. Take it off and let it flap in the breeze above the bananas or dangle over the daikon. Call 305-274-9363. (LO)

TUE 25

For Tatiana Byron, every day is wedding day. As the president of The Wedding Salon, Byron shows crowds of soon-to-be brides and grooms how fabulous their special day could be. This evening Miami's marriage-minded can sample delicious offerings from caterers and taste cakes by Ana Paz and New York's Sylvia Weinstock. A Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show will send in the gowns. Want to see what a million-dollar engagement ring looks like? Sear your corneas at the Tiffany display. According to Byron, guests will receive the mother of all gift bags. "We're including over $500 of products and services — everything from full-size bottles of Vera Wang perfume to Giorgio Armani cosmetics," she boasts. While catering to yourself, you can also help others. A silent auction will be held to benefit the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. The fun goes down tonight between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel Country Club Ballroom, 1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables. Tickets cost $75, $125 for a couple. WED 26

If you're a wine connoisseur, you already know your gamay from your Gewrztraminer. But if your few drops of knowledge about wine came from the movie Sideways, visit Stop Miami (3533 NE Second Ave., Miami). In this cozy, warm neighborhood bar, customers can enjoy a bistro glass of quality vino. "I don't serve anything I won't drink myself," declares approachably erudite co-owner Danny Brody. The bottles here are artfully displayed, with a Zen poem posted underneath as a guide to subtle flavors. The varieties available are exotic, refreshing, and surprisingly affordable. Tonight Brazilian wine takes center stage. At Brazoo night sample four delicious imports. If you'd prefer beer, enjoy cult Brazilian fave Nova Schin. With samba music and free-flowing nectar from the vine, the low-key sipping scene can soon turn into a party with guests spilling out of the store and dancing on the patio. The fun begins at 9:00 p.m. Call 786-246-2047, or visit www.stopmiami.com. (PEGY)
