Scared to go the mall? You should be. The threat level now extends beyond the roaming droves of sticky tweens, credit card-sucking price tags, and stomach-churning, food court cuisine. At the Miami International Mall, yes that place in Doral, heathens have taken over the parking lot for the month-long House of Horror. This pop-up amusement park hosts the largest haunted house in South Florida, vomit-inducing rides operated by toothless carnies, and other vaguely named attractions like the Pig Butcher, the Vampire Lair, and a zombie-filled graveyard.
So go get nauseated and scared in Doral. Costumes are encouraged, but organizers say that no face-concealing masks are allowed. Think back to A Clockwork Orange, Friday the 13th, Silence of the Lambs, and Halloween. Give a dude, who grew up kicking puppies, a piece of latex for his face and suddenly he thinks he has carte blanche to start axing people.
Anywho, we have two free House of Horror tickets for a lucky (and non-violent) Cultist reader. Read on to find out how to win.
The two free tickets to House of Horrors can be used on any
Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday through October 31. Firstly, you must be able to
come by the Miami New Times office on or before Monday (10/11) to pick up the
tickets. For a chance to win, email cultist@miaminewtimes.com with your
favorite horror flick. A random winner will be chosen this Friday
morning. Happy haunting. GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. Stay tuned for more freebies.
