Forget the suburban cul-de-sacs of your childhood. In 2025, trick-or-treating comes with a Halloween block party — at least in Miami. From South Miami to Hialeah, the 305 is stocked with haunted happenings for every little (and not-so-little) ghoul.
Grab your candy bags and baskets, and hit these neighborhood events to score treats this spooky season.
Alice in WonderGrove
Follow the White Rabbit — or at least a K-Pop dancer dressed like one — to Coconut Grove’s most imaginative Halloween takeover. “Alice in WonderGrove” transforms the downtown district into a full-blown fantasyland, complete with roaming performers, themed entertainment, and a candy trail that rivals Wonderland’s tea table. Local playwright Brandon Urrutia’s theatrical twist on Alice in Wonderland headlines the evening, which will also be packed with costume contests, interactive games, and enough whimsy to make even the Queen of Hearts blush. 6 p.m. Friday, October 31, in Downtown Coconut Grove, near Main Hwy. and Grand Ave.; coconutgrove.com. Admission is free.
City of Hialeah Trunk-or-Treat
No one does a community carnival quite like Hialeah, and its annual Trunk-or-Treat proves it. Milander Park fills with decked-out cars offering candy from open trunks, a fleet of food trucks, and a lively Kid Zone pulsing with music and laughter. The family-focused celebration keeps things festive yet safe, with free sweets and an open invitation to bring your most creative costume. 6 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Milander Park, 4700 Palm Ave., Hialeah; 305-557-6770; hialeahfl.gov. Admission is free.
Halloween in Shenandoah
Shenandoah Park’s annual Halloween bash channels small-town spirit right in the heart of Miami. The community-run Trunk-or-Treat draws thousands of neighbors for candy giveaways, spooky photo ops, and local pride by the pumpkin-load. Everyone knows everyone…or at least compliments each other’s costumes. Register early; this block party has become the stuff of neighborhood legend. 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Shenandoah Park, 1800 SW 21st Ave., Miami; miamishenandoah.com. Admission is free with RSVP via eventbrite.com.
Kiddo-Ween Festival
Bayside Marketplace dresses up for its annual Kiddo-Ween Festival, an afternoon bursting with family-friendly fun courtesy of Kiddos Magazine. Little monsters can bounce between safe trick-or-treating zones, a pumpkin patch, stage performances, and contests ranging from sack races to hula-hoopin’. Parents can also breathe easy with character appearances and a wide range of food options. Plus, there’s the backdrop of Biscayne Bay for those inevitable costume photo ops. 2 p.m. Saturday, October 25, at Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-577-3344; baysidemarketplace.com. Admission is free with RSVP via eventbrite.com.
Lincoln Road Halloween Block Party
If you prefer your candy crawl with a side of cocktails, Lincoln Road delivers the goods — literally. From 5 to 7 p.m., kids can fill their buckets at candy stations while grown-ups savor something stronger from one of more than a dozen outdoor bars lining the pedestrian promenade. Expect costumed characters, crafts, and spontaneous dance breaks under the glowing lights of South Beach’s busiest outdoor mallscape. 5 p.m. Friday, October 31, on Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach; lincolnroad.com. Admission is free.
Safe Streets Halloween
The clue’s in the name: Safe Streets Halloween keeps the thrills high and the traffic low. Sunset Drive closes to cars and opens to costumed kids, with candy stations, games, haunted houses, and even an allergy-friendly treat zone. Hosted by the City of South Miami and Miami Kids Magazine, it’s the ultimate family-forward fright night — perfect for younger monsters making their first candy crawl. 4 p.m. Friday, October 31, along Sunset Dr. from US-1 to 57th Ave., South Miami; southmiamifl.gov. Admission is free.
Trick-or-Treat on the Mile
Miracle Mile swaps shopping bags for candy pails during Coral Gables’ annual Trick-or-Treat on the Mile. The storied stretch turns into a pint-sized parade route of mini witches, superheroes, and plenty of parents double-fisting cafecitos. From face painting to balloon artistry and live magic shows at McBride Plaza, this all-ages affair packs the perfect dose of Gables charm. Bonus: the Actors’ Playhouse hosts Shrek the Musical at 2 p.m. before the Mile morphs into Halloween central. 3 p.m. Saturday, October 25, on Miracle Mile, Coral Gables; coralgables.com. Admission is free.
