$10,000

We’re hot on the trail of LeBron James, and if our sources are correct, he and Chris Bosh will join Dwayne Wade for this weekend’s Summer Groove block parties, comedy shows, and all-star games. If you’re part of the disgruntled lot chanting “Who’s LeBron James?,” you can skirt all this Heat mania by attending an art opening, seeing a film noir, and gazing at women’s behinds at a free swimwear fashion show.

Friday

  • Alonzo Mourning and Dwyane Wade host Summer Groove this weekend, starting with a comedy show tonight at Hard Rock Live. Catch laughs from Rickey Smiley, Damon Williams, Gary Owen, Rodney Perry, and Melanie Comarcho. Ever wondered what Lebron James’s laugh might sound like? Think he’ll be there to support his comrade D-Wade?
  • The Marlins taken on the Washington Nationals….come see the golden arm of pitcher Stephen Strasburg, that is if you can see past the glare of the Heat drama.

Saturday

  • To mark the opening of Miami Art Museum‘s “New Work Miami 2010,” the TM Sisters

will perform “With Out You, Babe,” Oscar Fuentes and the Gipsy Catz

will feature spoken word poetry and music, the artist collective Talking Head Transmitters will conduct a live AM radio broadcast in the gallery tomorrow night.

  • Filmmaker Dinorah de Jesús Rodriguez will project moving images onto

the oak tress of Legion Park for her Elusive Landscape series. She

dares you to “celebrate the bugginess and heat. Let’s brave this

    climate to have an adventure.”

  • Now that the Cinematheque has closed for the summer, you might have to

try out some odd venues to see movies — like the chi-chi Viceroy

Hotel, which screen movies every Saturday night. This weekend, they

show The Asphalt Jungle, a John Hurston 1950 film noir, starring Marlin

Monroe before she was blow-her-skirt famous.

Sunday

  • For the Summer Groove weekend, Zo and D-Wade will host the biggest

party of the summer, with music, food, giveaways, and other fun stuff

at a block party at the American Airlines Arena. Later, catch LeBron

James, et al. for the Summer Groove All-Star Game. Can you handle this

much basketball action? Ist don’t think so.

  • Most of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim is regulated to the rich, the

famous, and the connected, so we expect you to jump at the chance to

see models in bikinis at one of the few free, open-to-public showcases

SwimShow. It’s held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Sunday.
