Tobacco Road transformed into a very literal definition of “wet, hot American summer” last weekend as the venue hosted its first ever water balloon fight, importing 40 tons of sand and 10,000 water balloons to Brickell.
Organizers admitted to New Times that “we didn’t know what we were doing.” Luckily, the formula for a successful grown-up water balloon fight is pretty straightforward: a muggy summer day, kiddie pools filled with water-filled ammo, and a ballsy supply of Corona beer.
From the downpour that drenched partiers well before the fight started, to the all-out war of water balloons, our cameras caught all the action.
