All of the art fairs have packed up and left town. Au revoir art fairs. And during the lull between Art Week and holiday overeating, there’s still plenty to do. Music! Sports! Fashion! A veritable smorgasbord of tasty offerings here in our magical city. Here are our picks.

Friday

  • Cosplay Kingdom Miami at House of Rock : Calling all nerds: don your best Frodo costume, put on your best Princess Leia wig and head on down to Cosplay Kingdom. If your Sailor Moon costume puts the others to shame you could win some cash.
  • Victuals, Libations, and Song at the Wolfsonian: Enjoy a World War I inspired Christmas celebration, hopefully minus the mustard gas.

  • A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night at Miami Beach Cinematheque: Movie critics (including one of our own ) have been buzzing about Iranian-American Ana Lily Amirpour’s latest film. An update of the vampire flick, it looks worthy of all the praise.
  • Miami Short Film Festival at Paragon Grove 13: This is your last chance to catch this year’s short films; the festival closes tonight.
