Summer — the triple plague of humidity, mosquitoes, and bored teenagers — is upon us. The folks at the SoBe Music Institute can’t solve the first two, but they’ve got a great solution for that boy or girl ages 13 to 17 lying on your couch all day, eating your food, and complaining there’s nothing to do in a metropolitan area of 5.4 million people. Enroll that under-stimulated prodigy in the SoBe Arts Broadway Musical Theater Workshop for Teens, held at the Carl Fischer Clubhouse and Little Stage Theater. Your young Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers will learn how to become that other triple threat (actor, singer, dancer) from one of the best: Rebekah Diaz, formerly of the Manhattan School of Music. Students will learn scenes, songs, and choreography from both old and new musicals between 6 and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday until July 9. Call 305-674-9220 or visit sobearts.org for prices and registration forms.
Mondays-Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. Starts: June 15. Continues through July 9, 2009
