No matter what your mama says, Miami-Dade isn’t all about freestyle, booty bass, and hip-hop grind. Near the edge of the Everglades, the 305 is awash in a superpotent type of primordial ooze that breeds stoners and sludge rockers by the thousands. And these end days, the local distorto-demons of Green Sky — singer Pedro “Pocho” Ortiz, axe man Rolando L. Rivero, and drummer Santiago Bosi — are threatening to drag the whole damn county into the deepest, darkest parts of the swamp.

Ever since dropping a two-track burst of brutal Melvins-meets-Sabbath tuneage late last year, these killer creeps have been slaving away in the studio. But this Saturday, Pocho, Roly, and Yago will get staggeringly stoned on sludge at Sweat Records alongside proggy Orlando metalheads Bad Actor and West Palm Beach bringers of doom Nebraska Sun and the Mexican Rebel.
