Science: It rules the world. Embrace it, love it, and celebrate it this Saturday at the Miami Science Museum’s “AstroJam: Mission to the Future.” For National Astronomy Day (yes, it’s a real holiday), MiaSci will honor the stars as well as humans’ wild creations and inventions. The program lineup includes Dr. James Webb, astronomy professor at Florida International University, who will discuss “The Science of Star Trek” and other aspects of sci-fi stories blended with science. Dr. Webb is scheduled to present at 7:30 p.m. Other activities taking place throughout the day include 3-D printing demos, hands-on experiments, and futuristic technology presentations.
But wait, there’s also a freebie involved! The door prize is a Celestron telescope, and the winner will be selected at 4 p.m. AstroJam is for all ages, because you’re never too old or too young to enjoy science.

Sat., Oct. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2013
