The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $10,000 by August 9.
Chances are pretty damn good you’ve heard of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. But are you familiar with Los Auténticos Decadentes? If the answer is yes, you can feel free to either skip ahead or move on to whatever else you had lined up, such as grabbing a hot dog or teaching your pet turtle to sit. Because, if you’re familiar with Los Auténticos, you need no further sales pitch to entice you to their show at Grand Central this Sunday. This huge, 12-person band is one of Argentina’s OGs of ska. They meld equal parts traditional ska and carnival, achieving an energetic and oh-so-rhythmic sound that has earned them a cult following since first hitting the Buenos Aires bar scene in ’86 and releasing their debut album, El Milagro Argentino (The Argentine Miracle) in ’89.
