Fans of cool Caribbean beats have a new way to chill out and relax on the day of rest at Jazid’s Sunday Reggae Night. Beginning at 9:00, a tropical island vibe will fill the two-level club. Barbados-born Fitzroy will perform his unique brand of melodic hip-hop tinged with funk and Caribbean flavor every other week. Alternating with Fitzroy is the Visions Band, with its smooth reggae and positive vibes. Upstairs, Kulchashok Muzik’s DJ Lance-O is scheduled to spin as reggae-theme movies and music videos play on the wall. Expect to see goodies like Legend, a DVD featuring a Bob Marley and the Wailers concert. Not only is the music good, but also the drinks are cheap. You can party like you are under the Jamaican moon with three bucks off that glass of rum or your alcoholic beverage of choice during happy hour, which runs to 11:00. Call 305-673-9372, or visit www.jazid.net.
