If you’re a fan of extravagant waltzes and campy opera, Salute to Vienna at the Adrienne Arsht Center (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) is just what you’re looking for. This glitzy New Year’s celebration of fin-de-siècle Viennese performing arts returns to Miami for its ninth season, offering singers, dancers, and a full orchestra. Conductor Bernhard Schneider leads the Strauss Symphony of America, joined by soprano Laura Nicorescu and tenor Sebastian Fuchsberger. The all-Austrian lineup will perform classics including operatic selections from Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow. There will also be an obligatory performance of The Blue Danube. Oh, and there will be polkas. Take your grandmother — she’ll love every minute. The curtain rises Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $43 to $150. Call 305-949-6722 or visit arshtcenter.org.

Sat., Jan. 3, 8 p.m., 2015
