Reader support matters more than ever

We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.

$10,000

Funny white men. The world’s comedy dens are saturated with them, so it’s really hard to stand out. But comedian and reality-TV host Bert Kreischer gets noticed right away. Way back in ’97, Rolling Stone named him the “Number One Partier in the Nation.” The mag wrote a six-page article about him and his boozehound ways as well as the six and half years he spent at Florida State University. Um, we’ve spent plenty of years in bars and no one is calling us for an interview. Bert, you’re a badass.
Since college, Kreischer has been recognized for a clip from his short-lived FX reality gig The X Show where he gets his butthole waxed. (It was featured as The Soup’s “Clip of the Year.”) He has also gotten props for his theory that Dora the Explorer is secretly a racist coyote who sneaks friends across the border. He has a new Travel Channel show, Bert the Conqueror, and he’ll be at the Miami Improv this Thursday at 8:30 p.m., with performances through Sunday.
