Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
After months of being cooped up in a tiny apartment and taking walks in tongue-dripping tropical heat, your dog is stressed out. Don’t bother calling the Dog Whisperer; just bring him to the Historical Museum of Southern Florida’s second annual Bark Brunch at the Oasis from 10 a.m. to noon at the Raleigh Hotel.
He’ll relax with a massage in a sanctuary of understated glamour beside one of Miami’s most luxurious and historic dog-friendly hotels. Let your pup walk in the paw prints of Hollywood starlets’ pets of the past. You’ll enjoy brunch, mimosas, and a chance to win a two-night stay for two (pets allowed) in an Oceanfront king room at the Raleigh. He’ll enjoy canine competition, professional dog massages, and, of course, a doggy bag. Bid on auction items including a pet portrait by a local artist while your four-legged friend tries to win contests such as “Cutest Puppy Face.” Tickets cost $55. Reservations are required, so call 305-375-5356 or e-mail membership@hmsf.org.
