Just when you thought you knew every inch of Miami, a new event space opens. The Simigo Gallery and Workspace is the creation of two artists: photographer Jayme Gershen and painter Rosaura Perez. The duo has already enticed international artists for residencies and performances. This weekend, they will host Luis Maurette, an Argentine-born composer, multimedia artist, and half of an electronic folk group. Lulacruza artfully combines technology and folk. Maurette accompanies Colombian singer Alejandra Ortiz when Lulacruza performs at the gallery Saturday at 8 p.m., after a set by local fave Animal Tropical.

Sat., June 19, 8 p.m., 2010
