Is Skims Opening a Store at Sawgrass Mills? It Sure Looks Like It

A rep for Skims declined to comment, but other signs point to a potential opening date next month.

Are Kim Kardashian’s faux pube panties coming to a store near you? We’re not sure about that, but social media is buzzing with videos suggesting a new Skims store is opening at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise.

Late last week, videos showing an empty storefront at the mall, plastered with Skims branding — and a QR code with a call-out to “apply now” — began circulating on TikTok.

New Times emailed Skims for confirmation, but a representative for brand agency Karla Otto, which represents Kardashian’s shapewear company, declined to comment. New Times also asked a Sawgrass Mills representative for comment but has not heard back.

However, a look at the website of Simon Property Group — which owns Sawgrass Mills — also suggests Skims is opening a new store at the Sunrise mall. The website features a landing page for Skims in its mall directory, marked with a tag reading, “Coming Soon.” The page lists “The Loop Near Columbia” as the new store location and even suggests entering the mall via the Calvin Klein & Columbia entrance for easier access.

According to the site, the new store will open next month, just in time for the busiest shopping day of the year — Black Friday — with an expected opening date of Tuesday, November 25.

A Sawgrass Mills store would become the brand’s first location in Broward. The company has one location in Palm Beach County — Skims Boca Raton on Glades Road — and another in Miami-Dade County — Skims Aventura. Customers can also shop Skims at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour Shops and Nike Aventura — Nike and Skims partnered to launch a new activewear line late last month.

True to Kardashian’s penchant for internet-breaking buzz, the Sawgrass Mills speculation is happening just as Skims became a hot topic of conversation this week after the launch of a cheeky new item in its online store. The brand debuted a line of merkins — thongs decorated with artificial pubic hair. The product launch was met with a resounding “Who asked for this?” on X, but the line sold out in a day. There’s now a waitlist for prospective buyers. The thongs come in various colors and hair textures, and cost $32 each.
