She might be weathered and worn, but Purdy Lounge still looks good to many locals who check her out on a weekly basis. She lures them with the promise of cheap drinks and a hassle-free door policy — if you’re of legal drinking age. On Tuesdays, Laidback & Local doesn’t break from the lounge’s mission of catering to the anti-South Beach. In fact, it seems to highlight it. With dollar drafts and two-buck Purdy shots providing the social lubricant, and DJ Damaged Goods spinning disco and old-school hip-hop, you might mistake the weekday for the weekend. Need further proof there ain’t no party like a Purdy party? Local tastemaker Jared Esdale, of Nikki Beach, hosts every week. It lasts from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., and there’s never a cover.
