Growing up, there was only one place to find a rare toy to complete the Mos Eisley Cantina scene for our bookshelves. Tate’s Comics was and still is a mecca of South Florida geekdom. Originally no larger than a long hallway, the store has not only grown in size over its 17 years but also become a destination for fanboys and fangirls across the globe.
This Saturday and Sunday, the shop will hold Tate’s 17th Anniversary Tent Sale, a good time paired with great deals. Comics fans will be able get five books for $1 or even fill a box with comics for only $35. Graphic novels will be 50 percent off, and you can score three T-shirts for $25. Tate and his wife Amanda are expecting a child, so this year, their popular photo booth will include baby props. Celebrate the next generation of comics-love and take home some loot.
