Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Demi Lovato will swoop into downtown Miami on her world tour this Sunday, giving fans more of the amazing and uplifting music they’ve come to expect. Lovato has captured hearts not only as one of the biggest pop singers today but also as an adamant advocate against bullying.
Her devotees are already familiar with her intense, powerful vocals, high-energy performances, and electric stage presence. Lovato’s professionalism is also apparent — she’s been performing since she was a child star on Barney and Friends and various Disney Channel shows. Lovatics, as her fans like to be called, have supported her throughout her career, so much so that her latest album, Demi, has become her biggest international album thus far, and her book, Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, has been named a New York Times bestseller.
Lovatics will also be treated to opening performances by singer-songwriter Christina Perri and singer-rapper duo MKTO. The show begins at 7 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). Tickets start at $32 via ticketmaster.com.
