The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $10,000 by August 9.
Chic, mysterious haunt Bardot Miami will host songster Sam Friend’s vinyl-release party this Thursday night. Born and raised in Kendall, Friend spent a year in Seattle, writing and recording his second full-length LP, Lady Madly. While recording, he played shows around the Northwest and has since debuted songs from the album in hot spots such as Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
Though Friend studied jazz at the University of Miami, the singer/songwriter meshes pop sensibility with indie folk. He’s part of that whole Jesse Jackson/Rachel Goodrich scene. His performance at Bardot will feature his new band, Sam Friend With Drawings, and vinyl copies of Lady Madly will be on sale. Don’t forget to bring your friends.
