$7,500

Arch Creek Park and Museum (1855 NE 135th St., North Miami) is one of those magical places you remember from school field trips. If you’re longing to get back on the yellow bus for a visit, but there’s not even a hint of a permission slip to fill out, then the Arch Creek Park Family Fun Day is just what the school nurse ordered.

There’s a perfectly kid-size nature trail to explore and learn about native plants. You’ll go on a real archaeological dig. (Though if you find an arrowhead or other important artifact, you can’t legally keep it.) And if you’re feeling creative, learn how to make pottery the Tequesta way. Feel free to bring the youngsters, because they are the excuse for the “family fun” part of the day. Reservations are required.

Sat., June 9, 1-3 p.m.
