Dildos in Dishwashers and Eva Mendes Gets Freaky With Will Ferrell

Not that you crazy kids ever leave your sweaty desktop computers, but sneak outside just long enough to grab tomorrow’s new issue. Our art critic, Carlos Saurez de Jesus, opines on a dishwasher full of black dildos at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s “Claire Fontaine: Economies” exhibit.

In his review  “The Art of Seeing,” Saurez de Jesus observes: “As one navigates the show and eases out of the artist’s headlock, what is most striking is the simplicity with which Fontaine assumes the role of cultural trickster.” Read his thoughts on the French art collective’s Miami-inspired piece. It consists of suspended fake plants swaying in the artificial breeze of an air conditioner. You hear that, Miami? A group of French artists in disguise as a faux persona thinks you’re fake.

Also in tomorrow’s issue, Village Voice film critic Nick Pinkerton reviews the new Will Ferrell flick The Other Guys, which also stars Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg), Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), and the sex-tape goddess/Miami girl, Eva Mendes. Before you spend your hard earned money on a movie ticket, heed Pinkerton’s warnings:

Director Adam McKay’s “operating principle is that if one idiot is funny, two

are hilarious.” Pinkerton concludes that the “The Other Guys turns more hectic

than antic, and somebody didn’t pack enough comedy for this long trip.”

But hey Ferrell, we’ll let you keep making bad movies if they help you

pay off your Malibu mansion. Just keep pumping out videos on Funny or
