There is a healthy new addition to the quaint, brick-lined South Miami Avenue affectionately known as Deli Lane. Locals can survive the heat by popping into Soli Organic for ice cream that is actually good for you. Is there such a thing? “I believe so! We’re using pure cream, agave instead of sugar, and completely organic ingredients. There’s a big difference in flavor,” says co-owner Jorge Garcia. Yes, but does all-natural ice cream pass the true taste test? “Little kids love it,” reassures co-owner Helene Goldberg. The vibrant display proves that artificial colors and preservatives are not needed to make anything better. Fuchsia raspberry pom-açai sorbet sits alongside sunshine-yellow mango and adjacent to purple blueberry ice cream. Containers of insanely delicious pistachio and vanilla chocolate-chunk pecan are liberally garnished with roasted organic nuts. Stop by Soli Organic and treat yourself to a homemade waffle cone for $5.50 or an adorable “baby cake” for $7. Call 305-663-9399.
