They say you eat with the eyes first. But this Wednesday, diners will have to let their taste buds do the heavy lifting at the Lights Out dining experience at Red the Steakhouse (119 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). Lights Out is a “visually impaired dining experience” that helps people better understand what daily life is like for those who cannot see. In short, diners will spend the evening blindfolded, from walking to their seats through savoring the entire dining experience. Can you think of a better way to let your taste buds truly savor a high-quality steak? The event is presented by Stand Among Friends, a nonprofit based in South Florida that helps college students and adults with disabilities prepare for, seek, and secure active employment.
