There is no greater Christmas movie than A Christmas Story. Don’t even try to argue the point. Forget the shmaltzy sap of Miracle on 34th Street and the pathetic vulgarity of Bad Santa. Love Actually is a rom-com cheesefest, It’s a Wonderful Life is about a guy who wants to kill himself, for crissakes, and Elf — well, Elf is actually pretty great, but it’s no Christmas Story. If you asked Kanye West, he’d be all, “Ima let you finish, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, but A Christmas Story is the best Christmas movie of all time.”
Don’t agree? Clearly you need a refresher. Catch A Christmas Story during a free screening beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at Brickell World Plaza (600 Brickell Ave., Miami). For best results, wear your pink bunny pajamas. But leave the BB gun at home. You’ll shoot your eye out.
Santa is scheduled to make an appearance, parking is free, and chairs will be available for rental.
