There are great doughnut shops in South Florida, including Miami’s The Salty and Mojo Donuts in Pembroke Pines, but a tiny shop is getting the spotlight it deserves. Tucked away in Orlando, Florida, a small doughnut shop with a big personality is getting national attention.

DG Doughnuts has just been named the best doughnut shop in Florida by AOL Foodie as part of its 2026 roundup highlighting the top spot in every state. And the name alone tells you everything you need to know. DG stands for “damn good,” and according to fans and now national critics, it lives up to the hype.

From Home Kitchen to Statewide Standout

Founded by Amanda Eubanks, who formerly owned Amanda’s Cakery on Plant Street in Winter Garden, her son Brian, and Dave Hancock, the family-owned spot started off small in 2016.

Since then, DG Doughnuts has built a loyal following in Central Florida the old-fashioned way. They started from a home kitchen before popping up inside a gas station and eventually landing their own brick-and-mortar in Ocoee. Back in 2016, they wrote on their website, “We’ve been to farmers markets in the heat and rain, we delivered right from our house to yours, we set up shop inside a gas station and did our best along the way to make damn good doughnuts. Plus, we made sure that everyone always felt welcomed and appreciated. We finally made it into our own space after a treacherous few years, and we could not be happier to welcome you all in!”

That kind of grassroots growth is very Florida, and it shows in every box that leaves the shop, packed with colorful, over-the-top creations and perfectly executed classics.

Fancy Doughnuts, Done Right

What sets DG apart is its balance between playful and precise.

The menu leans into what it calls “fancy donuts,” with flavors like “Chantilly” and “Lemon Curd & Shortbread” that feel more like pastry case showstoppers than your average morning grab. Plus, you’ll find seasonal specials that rotate weekly, including their recent gorgeous Easter-inspired creations.

But it’s not all dressed up for Instagram. You’ll also find beautifully made glazed rings, fritters, and even whimsical options like unicorn horns, proving the shop knows how to have fun without sacrificing technique.

A Sweet Win for Florida

According to AOL Foodie’s March 2026 list, the ranking was based on a mix of reviews, accolades, and local love, making DG Doughnuts’ top placement feel especially earned. In a state packed with bakeries, Cuban pastelitos, and late-night sweets, standing out is no easy feat.

Still, DG Doughnuts has managed to do just that. It’s the kind of place that turns a quick coffee stop into a destination and reminds you that sometimes, the best bites come from the most unexpected places. For doughnut lovers willing to make the drive or take the Brightline to Orlando’s Ocoee part of town, this one is officially worth the trip.
