Over the past year, more Mexican restaurants have started to center on live music — and guests are loving it. In 2025, restaurant Sala de Despecho opened with a Mexican heartbreak theme where guests could grab a mic and cry it out to rancheras. Now, another Mexican import is arriving with a similar spirit.

Canta Corazón will open on Thursday, March 5 with a media opening, followed by the public opening shortly after. The restaurant and bar at 250 NW 24th St. is set to feel like stepping inside a Mexican hacienda.

Expect terracotta walls, dark wood, oversized chandeliers, cactus-green accents, and a central patio where mariachi musicians rise above the crowd and lead the room in song.

The idea is simple: come early for dinner and cocktails, and stay as the night turns into a full-room sing-along.

The idea is simple: come early for dinner and cocktails, and stay as the night turns into a full-room sing-along. Songs move between Spanish and English. Tables start singing together. At some point, strangers are harmonizing.

The restaurant-bar is partnering with members of the Fernández family, one of the most recognized names in Mexican music. The late Vicente Fernández helped define ranchera for generations, and his son Alejandro Fernández brought that music to global audiences. Alejandro Fernández Jr. is involved in bringing Canta Corazón to the U.S.

Piñatas, Cowboy Boots, and Late-Night Theatrics

According to the press release, the space is described as “a sentimental saloon made by and for women.” Women are greeted with a white rose at the door. Later in the evening, between 9 and 10 p.m., a masked luchador known as “El Santo” presents white cowboy hats exclusively to female guests as part of a signature moment.

Throughout the night, the theatrics build. There will be piñatas, shots served inside cowboy boots, and a boxing machine built into the venue so guests can quite literally punch out stress.

Canta Corazón will open Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m., with happy hour, a fire Taco Tuesday, and a full food and cocktail menu.

If Sala de Despecho hinted at a shift, Canta Corazón confirms it. Miami nightlife may be leaning toward fun, singing, and celebrating.
