Since we didn’t post one last week, we’ve got two for you today: one is happy, one aint. Here’s the first, taken on a recent Critical Mass (the Saturday one) ride. The group, which promotes safety in numbers via mass bike rides, meets this Saturday, 10:00 AM at University Metrorail station for a ride through the Gables.
(In other, related, news, riders from Critical Mass Minneapolis were recently tear gassed and beaten down – very literally – by Minneapolis police. More here ).
No, numbers alone won’t get you out of the woods — as was seen right here in Miami a week ago, when no less than eleven bicyclists were injured when an SUV pulled out in front of a pack of cyclists. The driver, whom Miami-Dade police concede was at fault, has been ticketed. Two bicyclists had to be air-lifted – click on ‘more’ to see one of them.
