$7,500

It’s a question that’s never been definitively answered. But on April 7, we’ll know for sure.

That’s when the film Comic Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope takes over the Fillmore Miami Beach, creating an approximation of geek mega-conference Comic Con inside the otherwise hip theater. If all goes as planned, the event will serve as a Mecca-by-proxy for South Florida comic fanatics unable to make the trek across the country to the real deal in San Diego.

Translation: South Beach is gonna see even more dudes in tights than usual.

From the looks of the trailer, Morgan Spurlock’s Comic Con film alone would be enough to bring nerdy types out in droves. (He says it’s the first time the festival has allowed a film crew to shoot inside its walls.)

But the event at the Fillmore is more than just a screening. The goal, according to a press release, is to “re-create the Comic Con experience” with exhibitor booths and panels for discussing the year’s hot topics in geekdom. And yes, costumes are encouraged.

No word yet on which celebrities, if any, are scheduled to attend.

The Fillmore’s Comic Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope event takes place April 7. Tickets cost $52.50 or $36.50 and go on sale tomorrow. Visit livenation.com for tickets.
