Free Events This Week: Ingrid Hoffmann, Board Games, and Jai Alai

If yesterday’s epic storms left you feeling waterlogged and lazy, we feel ya. Rain is a the best excuse ever to play couch potato, day drink, and get your fill of football.

But a brand new week means no more excuses to lie around like so many post-downpour sidewalk slugs. Here’s a whole host of free stuff to do for the next several days, so get out there and be social, people.

Tuesday

• Board Game Night at Sweat Records: Classic board games are so much better than lame iPad imitations. So get your fun on with this evening of Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Boggle and all those other blasts from the past you loved as a kid.

Wednesday

• Chef Ingrid Hoffmann at Miami Dade College: In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Chef Hoffmann will be signing books and talking shop. Plus, culinary students will be whipping up some of her recipes — so there’ll be noshing opportunities, too.

Friday

• Alex Berti Trio at CiFo: Hear some jazz, classical and folk sounds courtesy of one of Miami’s most badass art institutions.
• The Healers at Casino Miami Jai Alai: If you’re anything like us, you don’t get out to the Jai Alai often enough. Now’s your chance. Hear some free tunes and see a sport unlike any other.
