Chef Jeremiah Bullfrog thinks Miami needs good subs…and he’s doing something about it.
The GastroPod owner has opened Subatomic Sandwiches, a “throwback” sub shop located inside the Wolfsonian-FIU museum’s gift shop space on the first floor.
The shop is in a soft opening phase for Art Basel, serving sandwiches and Panther Coffee to fuel a day at the museums and exhibits.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
The chef tells Short Order that the shop will serve “old school” sandwiches with a twist: Instead of that pink mystery meat slathered in neon yellow mustard that we called subs back in the day, Subatomic sandwiches will be crafted with “house made everything” including “local bread from a French baker”.
Subatomic is open all week during Basel during museum hours (10 a.m. – 6 p.m. through Sunday, December 8). After that, hours may change.
Not sure what to expect? Here’s a little teaser video that turns Jeremiah Bullfrog into a video game hero:
