Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Sunday might be the most important day of the weekend. How you spend it will set the tone for the rest of your week. What better way to use your last day of freedom than to spend it enjoying some live music in the heart of Little Havana at Ball & Chain’s new monthly concert, Pineapple Sunday?
The world-famous venue offers an afternoon of live music starting at 2 p.m. Be sure to take advantage of the two-for-one cocktails from 4 to 7 p.m. too, and if you’re in the mood, you can grab some traditional Cuban bites like mariquitas de maduros or Cuban spring rolls.
The music selection features a variety of local talents, from jam bands to funk groups to DJs. The lineup includes Headless Tomz featuring Matt Schofield, Electric Kif, Oigo, Magic City Hippies, Lemon City Trio, Vlade Divak, and a set by DJ Le Spam.
There will be no cover, so there’s no excuse not to pause that Netflix series, put some pants on, and head to Ball & Chain this Sunday afternoon.
Pineapple Sunday. 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Ball & Chain, 1513 SW Eighth St., Miami; 305-643-7820; ballandchainmiami.com. Admission is free.
