Oh sure, an occasional ride on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World is fun, but imagine having to be surrounded by creepy looking, singing animatronic pirates for nearly two hours.
Labor Day visitors to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando got stuck on the ride at around 10:30 p.m. They weren’t freed from the pirate hell for almost two hours.
“Disney officials said attempts were made to automatically restart the ride, and when that didn’t work, staff had to manually bring the ride back into operation,” reports My Fox Orlando. “Disney also says that there were no serious injuries.”
While the ride itself stopped, the pirates didn’t. They continued signing for 15 minutes until someone had the foresight to make them stop signing. Surely if they had continued on for the entire two hours, there would have been at least one suicide attempt.
If for some reason you’d like to recreate the experience for yourself, lock yourself in a dark closet full of mannequins in eye patches and blast this for two hours.
You may actually find it preferable to watching the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
