A recent weekend roadtrip to Ginnie Springs in High Springs, Florida with a beautiful girl found Short Order investigating the “Free Orange Juice” billboards on the Florida Turnpike.
Pictured above is Bill Koki, a worker at one of several Florida Citrus
Centers where the free juice is distributed out of a souvenir shop that
doubles as a Florida citrus shipping order house. Bill says “I like it
here, a lot of very friendly people from around the world come here.
It’s usually busy on the weekends.”
The OJ is free, no strings attached, and provided courtesy of Jennings Citrus, a company started by Alabama immigrants after they moved to Florida in 1949 and saw a market for Florida citrus shipping after demand grew out of their sending goods by train to friends and family back home.
