The Miami Police officer who killed a stabbing suspect in Overtown last night is Eric Guzman, the 27-year-old son of Maj. Armando Guzman. The five-year veteran made headlines last year when he shot himself in the foot. The photo on the right is from an inter-departmental newsletter congratulating him: In January, Guzman arrested James “Birdman” Rolle, an accused cop killer featured on America’s Most Wanted. For better or worse, it’s already been a pretty eventful career for the young cop.
