Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Key Biscayne’s Academy of Martial Arts RDCA apparently wants to help you beat the queer out of your cross-dressing son. At least that’s the message a new set of print ads conveys. Put together by local agency Zubi Advertising, the two print ads feature a little boy getting in touch with his feminine side. The solution to all of this queer nonsense: karate lessons.
You know what’s funny? Zubi’s website encourages you to “erase stereotypes.” Turns out it means only Hispanic stereotypes. Apparently, you’re still free to capitalize on gay stereotypes for advertising. How hypocritical.
Update: RDCA says on their Facebook page that they did not approve the ad, while Zubi has emailed us to let us know the ads were never used in any form of actual advertising.
