Yelp Throws a Party at Moore Building (and You’re Invited)

Yelp is throwing a party for the public, and it’s the best kind of party: free. The erstwhile bloggers and friends will be whooping it up Saturday, August 21, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the very historic and extremely brick Moore Building in the Design District. Noshes will be provided by what I assume are restaurants that have gotten good reviews on the host’s website: Maitardi, Morena Soleá, Bongos Cuban Cafe, Waxy O’Connor’s, Mr. Yum, Miss Yip, Mr. Yum & Miss Yip’s Children, Vinyl & Kai, Leather & Rope, JB Kitchen & Bar, Soyka, and Mercadito.

Desserts will be Spuntino Italian pastries and Grand Luxe Café’s “signature

sweets” — upscale cheesecake, perhaps? Booze: Ketel One vodka, Captain

Morgan rum, Zacapa rum, Fenom absinthe, not-so-Fenom absinthe, Gran

Sierpe pisco, and Buck 15 bombs, as well as Vitaminwater and a coffee

bar by Segafredo Espresso. Napkins: Scott brand paper products. Paper cups:

Dixie. Light bulbs: GE. Toilets in the restrooms: American Standard.

Party favors: Pete’s Party Favor Shop. Etc.

Sounds

like a good time. Yelp only asks that guests please bring cash for

parking and gratuity. Plus maybe a little extra, because there will be a

collection going for voluntary donations to Camilus House.
