The sound of Austin post-punkers ST37 runs the gamut from fuzzy psychedelia to experimental/noise sessions to sonic pop. “Borg9 Hybrid Mix” sounds like a white noise machine with intermittent episodes of creepy laughter, while “Lactating Purple”is a psychedelic swamp of fuzzy guitars and gritty ominous rhythms.
The band plays Tuesday at Radio-Active Records with twang-punk outfit Boise Bob — who was dubbed “the most punk-rock band ever” by one of South Florida’s most hardcore ladies, Elyse Perez. If the painting American Gothic were a band, it’d be Boise Bob. Show starts at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, ST37 plays in Broward again, this time at Alligator Alley. Mr. Entertainment, Tongues of the Heartworm, and Laundry Room Squelchers round out the bill. The show starts at 10 p.m.
