When you’re kicking ass on the court, you can pretty much do whatever you want off of it. The Chicago Bears had the “Super Bowl Shuffle” back in 1986. Now the Miami Heat have made their claim to this year’s meme, the Harlem Shake.
And a helluva claim it is, with King James prancing around in a crown and cape, Shane Battier dressed as a “horsetronaut,” and Dwayne Wade meandering in and out of frame wearing a giant bear’s head. “In life u gotta figure out how to have fun and enjoy it,” (Super) Mario Chalmers tweeted of the video. “Hope y’all enjoy.”
You will. Check out the video after the jump.
Of course, haters are gonna hate. Bleacher Report ragged on Chris Andersen for his “terrible rhythm” before claiming that the team chemistry on display will land the Heat another title this year.
And SBNation criticized the entire crew’s dance moves as captured in GIF form.
But when you are undefeated in your last 12 games and have a trophy on your locker room rug, you can afford to dance like a fool.
Let’s just hope the Heat do what the Bears couldn’t by shaking their way to another title.
