Miami is full of Brazilians, and Brazilians love to party. Especially when they win futebol matches. Yesterday Brazil squeezed by North Korea 2-1 in its first game of World Cup 2010. We hit up a few local spots while the game was on to find somewhere good to watch the next win. (The team plays Ivory Coast June 20 and Portugal June 25.) We know there are a lot more venues, so leave a comment if you have a suggestion. Here’s where we went and what we saw.
Camila’s Restaurant Brazilian Food (129 SE First Ave., Miami)
Get your grub on while you get your game on at this all you-can-eat superbuffet. There’s also a bar. Go here if you’re hungry.
Churchill’s (5501 NE Second Ave., Miami)
They show every friggin’ match and always have for a long time. Skip work. Get drunk. Watch soccer.
Botequim Carioca (900 Biscayne Blvd., Miami)
The crowd wasn’t crazy, the scene wasn’t wild, and this place ain’t cheap, but if you got it, spend it.
Our number one choice to get down with the Brazilian party crowd is:
Boteco (916 NE 79th St., Miami)
There were blowpipes, music, drinking, lots of people, heat, skin, and dancing. Yellow, green, and blue were everywhere, indoors and out. Boteco does futebol right.
