In yesterday’s brutal police shooting, murderer Johnny Sims not only took the lives of some of Miami-Dade’s finest but also left four children without their parents. Detective Roger Castillo leaves behind a widow and three sons, while Amanda Haworth was a single-mother who’s son is now left without his family. The Dade County PBA Love Fund is now accepting donations to help the families of the slain officers.
Castillo was known throughout his neighborhood as a devoted father to his three boys — 9-year-old Brian, 11-year-old Michael and 14-year-old Anthony — and a loving husband to his wife, who is also a Miami-Dade police officer.
Amanda Haworth was a single mother raising her 13-year-old son Austin.
“Her son and her work were everything to her,” neighbor Bernardo Gonazalez told The Herald.
The Dade County Police Benevolent Association’s Love Fund is now taking donations to assist the families in their time of need:

The Dade County PBA Love fund is a federally recognized charitable organization [501 (c) (3)] established in 1984 to aid law enforcement officers and their families in their time of need including assisting the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
