Well, it’s only been about seven years since Saturday Night Live first unveiled Rachel Dratch’s Debbie Downer character, and Republicans are finally getting around to using it to spoof DNC chair and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. 

Let us not forget however the time the Republicans elected a man who was pretty much a pre-made actual SNL character to lead their party – Michael Steele.
