Nerds have come a long way since the days of wedgies, swirlies, and having their glasses knocked off for being brainy. But behold, in the modern era, nerds are finally cool and, maybe, a little hot. A monthly event dedicated to all things cerebral, Nerd Nite happens all over the globe — in more than 75 cities — and it has finally landed in Miami. A panel of geniuses will down a few beers and then proceed to wow with their intimate knowledge in their particular area of expertise.
How could any self-respecting nerd not attend an event with a slogan like “It is like the Discovery Channel (used to be)… with beer!” and fellow drunk nerds? This month’s speakers include William Visel, Dean Lyon, and Nathaniel Sandler. There will be talk of technology and a brief history of elephants in Miami.
