Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
As any local knows, Miami isn’t only beaches, nice cars, and bad fashion choices. This city has a rich cultural background that begs to be explored. The fourth-annual Taste of Historic Downtown offers a walking architectural tour of downtown Miami’s most unique sites, with complimentary cocktails and fun along the way.
The tour kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday with check-in and tasty local food at the Ingraham Building (25 SE Second Ave.). Participants can enjoy mojitos and Cuban jazz at La Epoca Department Store; a look at Miami’s first Roman Catholic parish, Gesu Church; and cocktails with Capone at the Bank Lounge (139 NE First St.), where Al Capone stashed his riches in the 1920s.
Advance tickets cost $35, which includes wine, cocktails, food, and admission to the VIP afterparty. Tickets purchased at the door the day of the event cost $45. Call 305-379-7070 or visit downtownmiami.com.
