It might have been trippy the first time you listened to Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon while watching The Wizard of Oz, but you can’t go back, and freshman year of college is long over. So if you’re looking for a new and exciting way to experience the joys of Pink Floyd’s iconic stoner album, Laser Fest Weekend is probably your best bet. The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science (3280 S. Miami Ave., Miami) is celebrating the new year with two days of laser lights and stars projected onto their planetarium’s four-story-high and seven-story-wide dome. The Frost’s laser lights will dance to the sounds of not only Pink Floyd but also the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Marley, plus the museum will premiere a light show accompanied by Queen’s greatest hits. Just remember, Laser Fest is family-friendly.
Laser Fest runs this Friday through Sunday. The first show begins at 8 p.m., the last at midnight. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $4 for children. Each show requires a separate ticket. Tickets go on sale at the box office at 10 a.m. the day of the show. Call 305-646-4200 or visit miamisci.org.
