St. Patrick’s Day: a day that non-Irish folks use as a perfect excuse to drink like an Irishman and carry misleading signs asking to be kissed. Luckily, there are establishments around Miami that can claim an authentic link to Ireland, and they know how to party like a leprechaun who just found a pot o’ gold.
John Martin’s Irish Pub & Restaurant (253 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables) will host Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With the Irish to highlight the island’s tasty cuisine. Sunday and Monday will feature a special menu, which includes novelty chicken wings with a Guinness-honey glaze, bangers ’n’ mash, and a savory beef and Guinness stew. Can we just pour Guinness on everything? Aside from the food, there will be performances by Paddy Kelleghan on Sunday and a bagpiper on Monday — superlegit.
Start the festivities Sunday with an Irish brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and let the party roll over to Monday for an all-day celebration from noon to 11 p.m. Don’t forget to wear green, or you might get pinched. Call 305-445-3777 or visit johnmartins.com.
