October means different things to different people. For kids, it’s all about Halloween. To our northern neighbors, it signals the onset of autumn. For retailers, it initiates the onslaught of the holiday sales season. As for the rest of us, it’s all about Oktoberfest, beer, and booze.
There’s no better way to celebrate than at the Crafternoon Delight Whiskey and Craft Beer Fest, taking place this Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Fadó Irish Pub (900 S. Miami Ave., Miami) in Mary Brickell Village. Enjoy unlimited craft beer samplings from 15 top breweries and special whiskey samplings from five leading whiskey and Scotch distilleries. The folks at Fadó know a little something about sipping spirits; “fadó” is an Irish term meaning “long ago,” an apt expression considering this particular pub was designed in Ireland before being transported stateside for construction. All the better to bask in the brew and rejoice in the whiskey in an authentic atmosphere.
